Hi, I'm Mollie.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, Staff Therapist at Chamin Ajjan Psychotherapy, where I provide individual psychotherapy, couples psychotherapy, workshops, and facilitate Melissa’s Group for adult survivors of female childhood sexual abuse. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and my Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in Psychology with a minor in Adult and Childhood Development.

A few words about me

I have worked extensively in sexual health promotion, power based personal violence prevention and awareness, and racial disparities within the Child Welfare System in Florida.

I have worked with clients regarding trauma, anxiety and depression, healthy relationships, sexual pleasure and communication, family dynamics, crisis intervention and life transitions. I have a particular interest in Sex Therapy, working with couples and exploring non-traditional relationships.  As a therapist, I prioritize the collaboration of therapist and client, as you are the expert of your own life. Clients have benefitted from working on their negative self-talk in therapy with me, as well as kindness to oneself and decreasing self-criticism. Mindfulness is key in accomplishing these goals. I believe each person has the ability and strength to create positive and meaningful, lifelong change in their lives.

Why I became a psychotherapist?

My passion for therapy originated in my work providing sex education and programming regarding sexual pleasure and stigma. The taboo of discussing sex has disproportionately negative effects for women, leading to a lack of pleasure and boundary crossing, and I want to use my skills to bridge that gap and de-stigmatize the impact of sex and sexuality on mental health. Mindfulness is incorporated into all modalities that I use within therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused and Strengths Based Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I discovered a deep interest in working with couples and individuals to help them understand their emotional “hot spots”, identify the root of their issues and learn new and effective ways of solving problems. Walking people through their “ah-ha” moments is my favorite part of being a therapist.
