Selection From Around the World: This week, we listen to sounds from my parent’s homeland, India. The sitar produces some of the most beautiful melodies on the planet. This stringed instrument was invented in medieval India and flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries. This particular “raga” is performed by one of the greatest sitar players of all time, Ravi Shankar. You will move through slow, tranquil sounds as well as fast, exhilarating beats all in one sitting. This expressive tune leaves you feeling all the feels – get ready for an adventure for your soul.
Wildcard: At first glance, this might seem like an odd choice. Fireplace sounds? Really? But trust me – get cozy on your couch or bed, grab a throw and a warm (or cold!) beverage, close your eyes and hit play. The sounds of the crackling fire will make you like you are under a star-covered night sky, at peace and one with nature. Allow each crackle to dissipate any negativity you hold by feeling deeply into these sounds and igniting the fire within you.

Selection From Around the World: This week, we move with the sounds of Bossa Nova. Bossa Nova is a style of samba that developed in the 50’s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The word “bossa” in Brazil is old-fashioned slang for something that is done with charm. It is often created by rhythmic guitar and drum patterns. This particular tune gives me a steady flow of energy and gets me ready to conquer the day!
Wildcard: Danish author, Hans Christian Anderson, once said, “Where words fail, music speaks.” Never has that been truer than with classical music. This elegant genre can transport you into the complexities of your emotions with each note provoking a distinctive reaction. Classical music featuring piano, in particular, has the ability to wean out the intricacies of one’s most hidden sentiments. This collection brings together the whimsies of some of the greatest pianists and musicians since time immemorial. Hit play and let each melody take you on a poignant journey.

Selection From Around the World: Bansuri is a side blown flute, made from a single hollow shaft of bamboo, originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the oldest instruments dating back 2,000+ years and is often depicted in Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain art. The bansuri exudes sounds of profound tranquility and connection.
Wildcard: Chosen on the weekly whim of Seema. This week we have a song that has been scientifically proven to reduce anxiety by 65 percent. The “world’s most relaxing song,” as described by Time Magazine, was created through collaboration with sound therapists. It is guaranteed to elevate you into a state of utmost relaxation.
